Department : Pipeline
Location : Brussels (Hybrid work: minimum 3 days at the office)
Contract : Full-time 6 months fixed-term (possibility of permanent position afterwards)
Your tasks & responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain tools and scripts that enhance the functionality and efficiency of our VFX pipeline.
- Collaborate with the Heads of Department to ensure pipeline solutions align with project needs and creative goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues promptly to ensure smooth production workflows.
- Create and maintain custom tools and extensions within standard DCC software packages (Maya, Houdini, Nuke) to support creative and production teams.
- Ensure tools are well-documented and user-friendly for artists and other technical departments.
- Oversee the management of data throughout the pipeline, from data ingest to client delivery.
- Develop and maintain workflows that streamline inter-department collaboration and ensure proper data flow between creative departments.
- Provide daily support to artists and production teams by troubleshooting technical issues and offering workflow solutions.
- Communicate with the Production team to integrate and optimize tracking solutions within the pipeline.
- Continuously improve pipeline performance and efficiency by identifying bottlenecks and proposing innovative solutions.
- Ensure the pipeline is scalable to meet the demands of multiple simultaneous projects.
Skills required
- Previous experience in a VFX/Animation or related industry (Games, AR/VR, etc.), with at least 3 years of experience for mid-level and 6 years of experience for senior-level candidates.
- Expert knowledge of Python (C++ is a plus)
- Knowledge of 3D computer graphics and animation software such as Maya, Houdini, and Nuke.
- Strong command of the QT framework (Python flavors: PyQT, Pyside,…)
- Proficient in Linux (Bash script)
- Familiarity with Git version-tracking
- Some knowledge of Web development, Autodesk Flow Production Tracking or Ftrack and understanding of colour workflows, USD, and ML tools are a plus.
- You have excellent listening and communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to provide creative solutions while maintaining technical fidelity and user-experience balance.
- Preferred: Strong interest in the Movie and TV industry.
- You are fluent in English (French and/or Dutch is an asset)
- Willingness to work on-site in Brussels, Belgium, with part-time remote work negotiable.
