VFX Lead Compositor

UFX Studios is entering an exciting phase and we are gearing up for a series of ambitious new projects launching from January 2026 in our Walloon office in Genval (20 km from Brussels). We are looking for passionate talents to join us in shaping this next chapter of UFX Studios’ development.


Missions

  • Supervise Compositors and oversee the running of projects
  • Establish the look and setup of master shots / sequences
  • Evaluate the creative and technical approach for assigned shots, helping to solve technical
    and creative challenges
  • Be able to do 2D tracking, matte extraction, layering of elements and color grading allowing
    to create and maintain models and help other artists to use them
  • Support and give feedback to your 2D and 3D teams and share your knowledge and
    techniques to facilitate the delivery of the project on time
  • Develop a positive and productive working environment with your team of artists
  • Being communicative, manage time well and demonstrate an excellent organization
  • Work closely with the Production Dpt in order to finalize the key shots
  • Have a clear vision of the production schedule on ShotGrid and to work with tight deadlines
  • Assign tasks to your team according to the difficulties encountered on the shot(s)
  • Be able to switch between multiple project
  • After the artistic check from the supervisor, you must take care of the technical check of the
    shot before its delivering
  • Conduct project retrospective at the end of each project

  • 5+ years of experience as a Compositor in a VFX, animation, or post-production studio.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Nuke, including advanced compositing, keying, integration, AOV
    management, deep compositing, and multi-pass workflows.
  • Strong artistic eye: color grading, lighting matching, photographic principles, realism, and
    visual continuity.
  • Ability to lead a compositing team, provide clear feedback, review shots, and maintain
    quality across sequences.
  • Excellent understanding of the VFX pipeline and collaboration with CG, FX, and lighting
    departments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design efficient workflows for complex shots.
  • Good communication, leadership abilities, and capacity to guide junior/mid artists while
    ensuring deadlines and visual consistency.
