Your tasks & responsibilities
- Set up the visual aspect of the project while respecting its specifications and clients’ requirements
Create a mood board and an artistic database in line with the project - Help to estimate at best the creation of 2D and 3D assets in cooperation with the VFX Producer, shot by shot
- Define the different technical approaches to use in order to maximize the established timeframes
- Collaborate with leads and artists from all departments from 2D to CG and provide them clear guidelines and goals.
- Keep a technical and artistic track on the progress of each assets and sequences
- In close cooperation with the Head of Production, explain if needed your requests to the R&D team to create new tools to implement in the pipeline
- Watch the shots once they have passed the technical check before delivery, for which you will be responsible once sent
- Work closely with CG supervisors and Production to find creative and technical solutions
- Identify the necessary resources and respect the deadlines and budget allocated to the project
- Give your teams constructive feedback to get their tasks done as quickly as possible
- Conduct project evaluation and post-mortem reports at the end of each project
Skills required
- Previous experience in managing a VFX team
- Passionate about film and VFX
- Outstanding understanding of the principles of 3D techniques (Animation, FX, Modelling, Texturing, Lighting, Scripting, Shading, Rendering and Rigging)
- Extensive design, layout, colour and Compositing skills
- Excellent knowledge of Nuke and Maya
- Proven knowledge of Mari, Arnold, Houdini and scripting
- You are a team leader, open-minded, humble, respectful and enjoy the complexity of human relationships
- You have strong communication and business strategy skills
- You can handle work under pressure and are not afraid of tight deadlines
- You are fluent in English (French and/or Dutch is a plus)
- You are ready to work in Brussels (or remote but on Belgian payroll)
