Le Rouge et le Noir

Adapted from the eponymous book of Stendhal, this series recounts the upward social mobility of Julien Sorel, an ambitious son of carpenter. Torn between its religious vocation and a military carrier, its heart will also split as he is in love with two women who have nothing in common.
